Introducing On Wandering
Introducing On Wandering and what’s in store this season.
TRANSCRIPT
Hello, I'm Clarissa Marks and I'm the host of On Wandering. I started the show because I'm fascinated by Jewish identity. Jews are culturally, religiously, politically, and ethnically unique yet diverse. It's a tall order, but on this podcast, I aim to explore all of the intricacies and intersectionalities that come with being Jewish.
Sometimes we go broad and sometimes we go deep, sometimes it's heavy and sometimes it's light, but it's always eye-opening. I'm really excited to bring to you conversations with academics, scientists, artists, creatives, people who all bring a different lens to the question,
“what does it mean to be Jewish in the 21st century?
So, whether you're someone who grew up Jewish, Jew-ish, or you joined us by family or by choice, or if you're someone who's just curious, I want to let you know that you are welcome here.
On Wandering is the evolution of an earlier podcast that I had, and I'm going to be re-releasing some of the episodes from that podcast in this first season.
The new name comes from talking to some of my listeners who identify themselves as
“Wandering Jews” and no matter where that name originates from, I think it reflects the journey that we're on to better understand ourselves and what our heritage means for us individually and collectively. I'm excited for this podcast to be a part of that.
So, the new season is dropping soon. Make sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and tell any friends that you think would like it too. Looking forward to seeing you there.
